But it does not claim to extend beyond the countries in which we have been professionally active for a long time and remain so to this day:<\/p><ul><li><strong>China<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>ASEAN (in particular Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar [Burma], Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, and the Philippines).<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>Certain other Asia-Pacific countries or jurisdictions governed by common law:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Hong Kong, India, Australia, and New Zealand.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>We have handled numerous cases related to the People\u2019s Republic of China in the field of:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Establishment<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Lobbying<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Several successful French companies in China have received advice from Girard-Foley &amp; Associates. Philippe Girard-Foley was invited to advise the Ministry of Health of the People\u2019s Republic. In connection with <strong>import legislation<\/strong>, he played a decisive role in opening the Chinese market to the international spirits industry through negotiations with the Chinese administration at the highest decision-making level.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Thus, we are familiar with the civil law of French origin prevailing in particular in China, Indonesia, and Indochina.
